Single Domaine Rum
Rum Nation was created by (their founding father), Fabio Rossi. He sought out select casks of rum from around the world on his numerous travels and bottled the very first Rum Nation bottles back in 1999. The variety of the different casks he chose and the huge difference in geographical styles required a unique approach to each style of rum – joined under one brand.
This became the cornerstone of our philosophy then and is our philosophy still today – to join a selection of the best rums from different nations under one series – Rum Nation. In this manner, the labelling of the rums does not (necessarily) include the names of the distilleries but instead the area of origin. Additionally, a postal stamp of the same country of origin as the rum is a graphical embellishment that continues throughout our entire range of bottles and labels.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Dark amber.
Nose: Dark, musty, very estery (fermented fruit, glue), with notes of cola, myrtle and bergamot tea.
Palate: Viscous sugarcane molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, dried raisins, and a slightly toasted and bitter background which hints at herbal notes (black tea and gentian root). Dark and sweet at the same time.
Finish: Endless interplay between the herbal bitterish character and the sugary sweetness. Ultimately sweet, almost syrupy and slightly winey, like vermouth.
Comment: A heavy Demerara, with its evident sugary sweetness, but also very dark, estery and aromatic.
God rom a nice taste and fine finish
Aroma: fermentované ovoce, cola, vanilka v pozadí
Chuť: čokoláda, káva, rozinky
Závěr: zprvu tóny pepře střídají bylinky s nástupem kávy. Po skončení tohoto krátkého závěru lze pozorovat déletrvající dozvuk po sherry.
Je to fajn, ale žádná hitparáda která by evokovala ke koupě lahve. 6/10

The finish is surprisingly smooth for being aged in a sherry cask.

Sweet and smooth rum with a bit of a bourbon finish. Warming on the tongue with a fruity and bitterness that isn’t too harsh. Quite enjoyable!
