Double 9 - Cuban Tradition

The origin of the Doble 9 naming comes from the denomination of Cuban domino, that is played in an important region of Cuba. It consists of having 55 pieces and not the 28 of the classical domino. The origin of this modification of the traditional dominoes that the Cubans made, is a real unknown.. But there are some legends…

The origin of the DOBLE 9 Rum is a tribute to the first tobacco growers of Cuba, before the production of the cigar leaf became massive, and the magic of the artisan work of expert hands was lost. The work in “las vegas” where the pure tobacco leaf was grown was very hard. It was a manual work that pampered the cultivation to the maximum, so as not to lose its characteristic essence. After those long days, tired but happy for their work, the tobacco growers would meet under the moonlight where they enjoyed a cigar along with a glass of exquisite rum. On one of those warm nights, with a crescent moon, one of the elders thought that, since he could not accelerate the phases of the moon to have better vision, why not lengthen the game and make it more durable and enjoy more time of those lovely nights. The DOBLE 9 pays tribute to the effort and tenacity of the first Cuban tobacco growers. A deserved recognition to the Cuban culture and a game that is enjoyed in a good company, like a Good and smooth 100% Cuban Rum.

Tasting Notes:
Dark amber-coloured provided by barrels used during its long ageing, it is classified as a dark mature rum. Persistent aroma, strong woody, moderated fruit, with notes of dry fruits, vanilla and coconut. It is sweet in flavour filling the palate, long and lasting fatty, slightly ardent. Delicious to be taken neat or with some ice.

Chuť: hladká, kulatá s chutí po sušeném ovoci a dřevin v pozadí
